  • If the client is late, he may lose his shift, since the time reserved for his appointment is the time necessary to carry out his application and this could cause a delay to the following appointments.

Points will be marked on the area of the contracted body to confirm the precise position for the perforation.

The application will proceed.

  • If the piercing is not finished because of the client, as for example because he is afraid, he will not stop moving, etc., this would be considered finished, he should contract it and pay it again if he later wishes to do it.

The client commits to fulfill them, assuming as his own the problems derived from the breach of them.

Before the application

Before performing the piercing, the following considerations should be taken:

  • Do not attend the establishment on an empty stomach.
  • Avoid drinking alcohol, vasodilators or exciters 24 hours before.
  • Avoid sunbathing excessively and of course sunburn.

After the application

The recommendations to follow are important to obtain a good result and avoid the infection of the perforation:

Healing period according to the area of the perforation:

  • Lobe of the ear - 4 to 8 weeks
  • Cartilage of the ear - 3 to 8 months
  • Nose - 2 to 4 months
  • Nasal septum - 6 to 8 weeks
  • Eyebrow - 6 to 12 weeks
  • Nipple - 3 to 9 months
  • Navel - 7 months to 1 year
  • Lip - 2 to 4 months
  • Tongue - 4 to 6 weeks
  • Lingual frenulum - 1 to 2 months
  • Female genitalia - 4 to 10 weeks
  • Male genitalia - 4 weeks to 6 months

Follow the following care throughout the healing period:

Piercings inside the mouth (lip, tongue, braces, etc.)

  • Eat soft and cold foods.
  • Drinking cold liquids.
  • Avoid smoking.
  • Perform mouth rinses, after each meal, with a mouthwash that preferably contains chlorhexidine to prevent inflammation, especially if the piercing is tongue or lip.
  • With the tongue piercing it is usual to have difficulties to talk and eat during the first days.

Rest of piercings

  • Wash both sides of the piercing several times a day with a few drops of saline.
  • It is advisable to bathe in the sea and submerge the area of the body where the perforation is.
  • Do not submerge the perforation in pools.
  • Showering with soap and water is not a problem.
  • Do not remove the jewel before the complete healing of the perforation because it is very likely not to be able to put it back on. The hole tends to close extremely fast.

Do not change the jewel for another until the complete healing of the piercing.

If, after at least one day from the completion of the perforation, it stings or oozes, you should go to a pharmacy to acquire an appropriate disinfectant. In case of infection you should go to the doctor.
